Gertrud was born on June 15th, 1708 in Bracht (D).  Gertrud's father was Anton Simons and her mother was Agnes Doemges.  Her paternal grandparents were Simons and Catharina? Simons?; her maternal grandparents were Reiner Doemges and Catharina Lürkens.  She had two brothers and four sisters, named Joannes, Heinrich, Catharina, Gertrud, Cornelia and Elisabeth.  She was the sixth oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 75 on April 23rd, 1784.
