Joannes was born on June 2nd, 1726 in Swalmen.  Joannes' father was Sibertus Ceuven and his mother was Gertrudis Meuter.  His paternal grandparents were Joannes Ceuven and Maria Joosten; his maternal grandparents were Areth Meuter and Maria Cruijsbergh.  He had three brothers and five sisters, named Johannes, Joannes, Jacobus, Allegundis, Agnes, Anna, Joanna and Maria.  He was the seventh oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 71 on February 11th, 1798.
