Joanna was born on November 4th, 1793 in Weert.  Joanna's father was Christianus Stijnen and her mother was Barbara Thijssens.  Her paternal grandparents were Gerardus Stijnen and Maria van Gelis.  She had five brothers and three sisters, named Gerardus, Petrus, Petrus, Henricus, Joannes, Maria, Joanna and Maria.  She was the youngest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 2 in 1795.
