Christianus was born on January 31st, 1741 in Weert.  Christianus' father was Gerardus Stijnen and his mother was Maria van Gelis.  His paternal grandparents were Joannes Stijnen and Josina Hendrikx.  He had three brothers and five sisters, named Joannes, Petrus, Henricus, Helena, Petronella, Maria, Anna and Ida.  He was the third oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 56 on November 8th, 1797.
