Franciscus was born on January 21st, 1742 in Asenray.  Franciscus' father was Mattias Janssen and his mother was Joanna Thomassen.  His maternal grandparents were Geerken Thomassen and Margaretha van Neel.  He had four brothers and five sisters, named Joannes, Gerardus, Joannes, Gerardus, Margaretha, Margaretha, Gertrudis, Hendrina and Joanna.  He was the sixth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 45 on December 17th, 1787.
