Maria was born on March 9th, 1760 in Swalmen.  Maria's father was Christophorus Naus and her mother was Joanna vd Loo.  Her paternal grandparents were Joachim Naus and Elisabeth Kessels.  She had two brothers and two sisters, named Joannes, Joannes, Helena and Joanna.  She was the fourth oldest of the five children.  She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Joachim, Christianus, Maria and Mechtildis.
