Joanna was born on March 17th, 1706 in Asselt.  Joanna's father was Sibertus Naus and her mother was Anna Spee.  Her paternal grandparents were Joachim Naus and Helena Loeyens.  She had three brothers and three sisters, named Joachim, Joachim, Hermanus, Mechtildis, Jacomina and Helena.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  She had two half-brothers named Joachim and Sibertus.
