Joachim was born on April 4th, 1698 in Kessel.  Joachim's father was Sibertus Naus and his mother was Anna Spee.  His paternal grandparents were Joachim Naus and Helena Loeyens.  He had two brothers and four sisters, named Hermanus, Joachim, Helena, Joanna, Jacomina and Mechtildis.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He had two half-brothers named Joachim and Sibertus.
