Joannes was born on October 18th, 1755 in Beesel.  Joannes' father was Antonius Misdom and his mother was Maria Barbara Schreuder.  His maternal grandparents were Georgius Schrijder and Catharina Coolstronck.  He had two brothers and three sisters, named Antonius, Wilhelmus, Anna, Maria and Barbara.
