Gerard was born on July 14th, 1708 in Bracht (D).  Gerard's father was Mathias Hauser and his mother was Agnes Deutgens.  His paternal grandparents were Henrich Hauser an gen Haus and Theodora Steppen/ Hermans.  He had four brothers and two sisters, named Peter, Hubert, Theodor, Leonard, Maria and Maria.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 80 on March 23rd, 1789.
