Peter was born in Bracht (D).  Peter's father was Peter Erkens and his mother was Catharina Keiteler.  His paternal grandparents were Jakob Erkens and Elisabeth Hogen.  He had a brother and four sisters, named Jakob, Helena, Elisabeth, Christine and Helena.  He had two half-sisters named Elisabeth and Petronella.  He died on February 27th, 1722.
