Mechtildis was born on August 14th, 1689 in Kessel.  Mechtildis' father was Hermanus Naus and her mother was Agnes Roeffs.  She had three brothers and two sisters, named Michael, Petrus, Joachim, Anna and Anna.  She was the youngest of the six children.
