Lambert was born on January 14th, 1841 in Stevensweert.  Lambert's father was Peter Johann Heijmann and his mother was Petronella Hüskes.  His maternal grandparents were Joannes Huskes and Mechtildis Geurts.  He had four brothers and a sister, named Peter, Franciscus, Joannes, Jacobus and Maria.  He was the fourth oldest of the six children.
