Wolterus was born on May 4th, 1736 in Swalmen.  Wolterus' father was Joannes Bremmers and his mother was Petronella Hoefnagels.  His paternal grandfather was Wilhelmus Bremmers and his paternal grandmother is Gertrudis Beurskens.  He had four brothers named Matthias, Andreas, Franciscus and Jacobus.  He died at the age of 49 in 1785.
